In recent years, as people pay close attention to healthy eating, their concept of healthy eating has also been strengthened. Recently, PepsiCo announced that it will replace the sugar-free cola sweetener in the United States and abandon the use of artificial sweetener aspartame.
It is reported that some people believe that aspartame can cause health problems such as cancer. In the face of American consumers' distrust of the artificial sweetener aspartame, PepsiCo has abandoned aspartame sugar-free cola sweetener in the United States and replaced it with a mixture of two other artificial sweeteners, sucralose and acesulfame potassium. It is understood that this change by PepsiCo is limited to the US market, and there is no similar plan in China and other parts of the world.

A PepsiCo spokesperson said: "Chinese consumers like today's sugar-free Pepsi. ... PepsiCo uses a variety of sweeteners to produce good-tasting cola, including aspartame. Aspartame remains an important sweetener in some Pepsi beverages around the world, including sugar-free Pepsi in the Chinese market."
