Of course. Research on children's use of Monk fruit sweeteners is lacking, although studies conducted on adult and animal models have shown no negative health consequences. Sweeteners made from monk fruit, such as powdered monkfruit and pure monk sugar, can be added to a child's diet to give sweetness without increasing calorie or added sugar consumption. Monk Fruit Sweeteners, unlike sugars, do not ferment, and its common ingredient, erythritol, is noncariogenic, meaning it does not encourage tooth decay.

The increased concern over the use of added sugar has led to an increase in the availability of food and beverage items that include low-calorie sweeteners. Although studies conducted on American adults and children have indicated a rise in the use of these products, the current intake levels of each low-calorie sweetener are still within acceptable national and international thresholds.
